High five for Renaissance Retirement development

One of the best sales weeks in Renaissance Retirement’s long history has resulted in five reservations at its Fleur de Lis development in Abingdon.

That takes the development on Wootton Road to over 70 per cent sold and the company now has only six units left. Development director at Renaissance Retirement Nick Watkins puts the success down to a number of factors.

But I think it’s a combination of a great location, stunning development and the owners have generated a real community feeling. I would also say it’s been a great team effort.”

Over 80 per cent of the apartments have been sold to local people living in or near Abingdon. There are a number of factors for owners downsizing with added security, ease of living and family living locally being the main reasons for buying.

“The community feeling between the owners is evident as you walk around Fleur de Lis,” said Renaissance concierge Rachel Galloway. “’I’m here most days and organise a number of social events for the owners and trips out in the chauffeur driven car. I’ve been told it’s like a hotel here which is great feedback. We want our owners to be happy and relaxed.”

Having noticed an increase in demand for luxury retirement housing, Renaissance design, build and manage top end retirement developments, with communal areas of the sites meticulously cleaned and maintained to ensure a level of comfort that one would expect in a 4 star hotel.

Renaissance built the first retirement development at HRH Prince of Wales’ Poundbury development in Dorchester which was very well received and is synonymous with a quality build.

Current owner, Mr Barratt said: “It’s wonderful living here – I couldn’t be happier and it’s the best decision I made. I don’t have the issues of security and up-keep of a big house and I’m near my family in Abingdon which means I see them more. All the owners are very friendly and we try and look out for each other, as well as socialize together.”

To assist new owners downsizing and moving in, Renaissance offers its own SmoothMove service at no extra cost. This is a bespoke service designed to ease the pressures and hassle of moving home.

New owners opting to use the fully inclusive service benefit from the expertise of their own SmoothMove Consultant, who can offer advice and assistance with downsizing, the planning and setting up of their new home and take care of the often time consuming administration of arranging new utility services.  SmoothMove also includes a complimentary removal service to transport your existing possessions to your new home.

Renaissance Retirement will be hosting its Festive Open-House afternoon on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th December 11am – 4pm. The friendly Renaissance team will be on hand to give private accompanied tours of the development throughout each afternoon.
