Renaissance Retirement appoints Catherine Nightingale to SmoothMove operation to assist owners

Renaissance Retirement has appointed Catherine Nightingale to head up its SmoothMove operation.

The retirement living company offers the top rated service as part of the overall price of its luxury apartments. The service has already been a huge success in Abingdon with all owners giving it the thumbs up.

SmoothMove includes a multitude of services including: organizing and planning the move, working with the family to prepare for downsizing, de-cluttering, helping to sell or dispose of unwanted items, liaising and booking the removal company, unpacking, hanging curtains and making sure furniture is positioned right where you want it.

Catherine Nightingale comments: “Renaissance’s complimentary bespoke SmoothMove service is tailored towards the individual requirements of every purchaser, saving the owner thousands in removal costs. We understand how daunting a move can seem – a lifetime of treasures, family possessions, photos and files – right down to a multitude of pots and pans, not to mention all the paraphernalia in the garage, loft and garden shed.”

Fleur de Lis, the first purpose built development of independent living retirement properties in Abingdon for over two decades, comprises 24 apartments with added owner exclusive facilities, including a well-appointed and furnished Owners’ Lounge, landscaped gardens and a guest suite.

Nick Watkins, Development Director at Renaissance Retirement added: “To assist new owners, we are offering our own SmoothMove service at no extra cost. This is a bespoke service designed to ease the pressures and stress of moving home.”

Mr and Mrs Daw, both in their 80s, moved into their apartment at Fleur De Lis Abingdon in May and were delighted with the service. Mrs Daw comments: “It went very well – straightforward from start to finish. We couldn’t be more pleased as it really helped take the pressure away from the move.”

The apartments are ideally suited to downsizers, and for those looking to maintain a quality standard of independent living throughout their later years. Owners have access to Abingdon’s cultural attractions, including the Abbey, the tranquil river side and the Abbey Meadow which boasts a heated outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts.

Having noticed a demand for retirement housing, Renaissance Retirement design, build and manage luxury retirement developments, with communal areas of the sites meticulously cleaned and maintained to ensure a level of comfort that one would expect in a 4 star hotel.

Renaissance Retirement, founded in 1997, has plans for a further ten sites throughout the South following their success at Abingdon. The company’s first development was located in Poundbury, the Prince of Wales’ landmark development site in Dorchester.
