Renaissance Retirement break ground on former council land in the centre of Romsey

Paul Williams, Construction Director at Renaissance Retirement, officially started groundbreaking work to mark the beginning of construction at the company’s new retirement development in the centre of Romsey.

Location is at the heart of the company’s exciting plans for a collection of 52 new retirement apartments located on Duttons Road on the former council offices. The apartments will provide luxurious living spaces ideally suited for downsizers looking to maintain a quality standard of independent living in the region.

Robert Taylor, Managing Director at Renaissance Retirement, comments: “We are pleased to report we are off and running and progress will be rapid from now on.

“We take the preservation of local heritage very seriously at all of our sites and we work hard to ensure that as far as possible our builds are sympathetic with local landscape and heritage.”

The site is in a prime location with easy access to shops and other local amenities on the high street, as well as the weekly market and nearby clubs and societies. Neighbouring Southampton is easily accessible via regular bus and train services.

Renaissance Retirement, based in Ringwood, has indicated the build is scheduled to be completed in August 2016 and a Grand Opening planned for September 2016.

The development, to be called Fleur-de-Lis Romsey, will comprise spacious 52 one, two and three bedroom luxury apartments – some featuring stylish mezzanine floor spaces – together with an owners' lounge and guest suite. The luxurious properties will provide an exceptional standard of independent living for those considering downsizing from a larger family home.

Paul Williams, Construction Director at Renaissance Retirement, added:  “This is the number one location for senior living in Romsey. This is a very exciting development in a stand out position. There are a number of retirement developments being built at the moment just outside the town, but with our prime location in the heart of Romsey it’s no wonder we have received considerable interest from potential buyers already."

Renaissance Retirement was handpicked by HRH Prince of Wales to build the first ever retirement development at Poundbury, Dorchester in the 1990s, and has an enviable reputation for quality build and finishes.
