Two reservations in a week leaves just four apartments left at Renaissance Retirement’s Fleur-de-Lis in Abingdon

Staff and owners are celebrating their one year anniversary at Fleur de Lis Abingdon on the back of a successful sales week. Renaissance Retirement has started the month with two reservations in a week which leaves just four apartments to sell.

The double celebration also heralds the first owners moving into the retirement development on Wootton road in February last year. Owners joined Renaissance concierge, Rachael Galloway, to cut a special cake to mark the occasion.

Being the only new retirement development in Abingdon for decades, the development has proved very popular with 85 per cent of apartment sold with only one bedroom apartments left to sell.

“We are doing some very special deals on the remaining apartments. There hasn’t been a better time to buy a new retirement apartment,” said Nick Watkins.

“Potential buyers are being attracted to our Abingdon development for a number of reasons. The location is ideal and there is very little new retirement apartments for sale in the area.”

Nick added: “We are also offering a free moving service worth up to £5,000 which takes all the stress out of moving. We can also help sell your house for you – and get the best possible price for you using our independent selling company.”

Over 80 per cent of the apartments have been sold to local people living in or near Abingdon. There are a number of factors for owners downsizing with added security, ease of living and family living locally being the main reasons for buying.

Having noticed an increase in demand for luxury retirement housing, Renaissance design, build and manage top end retirement developments, with communal areas of the sites meticulously cleaned and maintained to ensure a level of comfort that one would expect in a 4 star hotel.

Current owner, Rex Paske, 77, said: “It’s wonderful living here – I couldn’t be happier and the best decision I made. I don’t have the issues of security and up-keep of a big house and I’m near my family in Abingdon which means I see them more. All the owners are very friendly and we try and look out for each other.”

To assist new owners downsizing and moving in, Renaissance offers its own SmoothMove service at no extra cost. This is a bespoke service designed to ease the pressures and hassle of moving home.

New owners opting to use the fully inclusive service benefit from the expertise of their own SmoothMove Consultant, who can offer advice and assistance with downsizing, the planning and setting up of their new home and take care of the often time consuming administration of arranging new utility services. SmoothMove also includes a complimentary removal service to transport your existing possessions to your new home.

Renaissance built the first retirement development at HRH Prince of Wales’ Poundbury development in Dorchester which was very well received and is synonymous with a quality build.

Renaissance Retirement will be hosting an open English Cream Tea weekend on Saturday 28th February and 1 March. Many of the owners will be on hand to share their experiences of living at Fleur-de-Lis.

The friendly Renaissance team will also be on hand to give private accompanied tours of the development throughout each afternoon. To register your interest in attending, please call our on-site sales consultant Cheryl on 01235-535893 or email cm@renaissancegroup.co.uk
