Haywards Heath retirement apartment suits Harold’s lifestyle down to the ground

Harold Goodwin hasn't looked back since he moved from a big detached period cottage into a brand new Renaissance Retirement apartment in Haywards Heath.

Harold, 88, moved from his house in Bolney into a two bed flat with mezzanine gallery and couldn't be happier.

Almost philosophical about downsizing, Harold said: "Everything in life has a time frame and I had a many wonderful years in my house but I'm not missing it. This flat now suits my needs so much better.

"I have all the space I need and importantly living in Haywards Heath I can get everywhere on foot. Everything is within walking distance which is very useful when you need to pop to the shops, bank or go for a meal out. In my opinion, this is the best site for retirement living in the town.

"When I met the Renaissance sales consultants when I was thinking of moving I was very impressed with their friendliness and competence. The house was on the market for a very short time before I got a buyer. It was pretty straight forward and now I'm here I have people like Lynn the concierge to keep an eye and ear out for me."

Sports enthusiast Harold still has plenty of time for watching his beloved sports with cricket being his favourite. "I'm not able to play anymore but I still get around and I enjoy watching cricket at Cuckfield Cricket Club."

Renaissance Retirement's development, built on the former magistrates' court in Haywards Heath, is now over 65 per cent sold. Launched last November, the 34 one and two bed apartments, some featuring mezzanine floors, have been attracting a wide range of interested buyers.

The building's design was inspired by Charles Voysey - the famous English architect and designer who pioneered the 'Arts & Crafts' look.

Matt added: "There is very strong interest in Haywards Heath for good quality, spacious retirement apartments. We are delighted Harold is happy in his new apartment. We have about ten apartments left for sale."

Renaissance Retirement claims it's responding to the market with its development which offers bigger, more spacious retirement flats – some up to 1,850 square feet in total floor space.

The luxurious properties will provide an exceptional standard of independent living for those considering downsizing from a larger family home.
